In April of 2018,
I was looking for a job as I had just moved to Gurgaon when one of my friends from college, Debashree, who worked with Think Talent, referred my name for an interview. I was selected by the Management Team for the role of an Assistant Marketing Manager. The company started growing, & soon enough another entity called Talent Triathlon (a sister concern) was formed. I joined Talent Triathlon because it was being built from scratch & someone with Marketing experience was needed.
I was going through personal turmoil last year & it becomes very emotionally challenging to manage work as well as my personal life. Looking at my own performance at work, I decided to quit. When I told this to the Management Team, their take was that this is a difficult phase & it will pass. Instead of being out of a job, the work pressure was reduced from my plate for a period. This orientation & attitude of the management team towards me was a pivotal reason for me to stay with the company & give my best moving forward.
When that phase got over, I came back stronger.
Our management team wanted someone to drive the marketing agenda at Think Talent. They could have hired someone new, but Bimal sir told me that “Your performance with Triathlon is not what we expected but we know what the reasons are, so we want to give you another chance to come back to Think Talent. You can change your role when you come back, that way you’ll get to do something new, & interact with a newer set of stakeholders.” I grabbed that opportunity.
This continued employment with Think Talent helped me a lot because not only did I not have the added pressure of finding a new job, I got exposure to a new role. I moved into a Business Development & Sales Enablement role at Think Talent which was very new for me.
I have had to upskill myself, if I was doing a normal 9-5 fixed set of tasks, without any scope of learning something new, I don’t think that I would’ve been as engaged as I am here.
My colleagues here are the cherry on top, they are extremely approachable.
You have any work, you can walk up to the person & ask them anything you want, & everybody is willing to help.
The Think Talent family outside of work are also good friends & mentors. You can be free & open with them outside work. Whether it be going out for lunches & dinners or inviting us to their home, these little things ensure that they are approachable.
