Contextualizing Western Coaching Approaches for Indian Managers
The first in this series of breakfast discussions was held on 23rd Sept 2011.
The purpose of this series of roundtable discussions is:
- To disseminate ideas that will help to address and synthesize critical issues in the area of leadership development-specifically applicable and relevant to the Indian context
- To create a platform to bring together a group of corporate practitioners on a regular basis and learn from their perspectives-as well as share it with the larger corporate fraternity
Organizations in India need strong leadership capability to sustain the growth momentum and reach the aspirational level in the future. Identifying, developing and retaining leadership talent has now become a strong business need.
Executive coaching, as a development mechanism is in its incipient stage in India. There is a strong need to include it in the development charter of the organizations, however the first step is to educate the corporates about the process, benefits and value associated with it.
